Theatre Education

Expanding Capacities for Creative Thought and Expression

Learning in theatre enhances learning in all other areas. Theatre education enables students to develop intellectually by expanding their capacities for creative thought and expression and by encouraging critical thinking skills. Further, theatre education fosters personal growth, self-confidence, knowledge, and a variety of skills and attitudes that are transferable to a wide range of careers. Participation both on and off stage teaches students to be a part of something bigger than themselves. As Lakeview alumna Kelsey Zottnick once wrote as a student, “Theatre is beautiful because it reflects the human spirit: it is an expression of universal human fears, doubts, and triumphs.”

Theatre is offered in all divisions and provides opportunities to participate in performing arts productions throughout the school year.

The Curtain is Up!

We are excited to share that Manestage Productions officially has a new online home!

A group of young performers in rustic costumes are captured mid-dance on a dark stage, with the website's title "WHERE THE STAGE COMES ALIVE" prominently displayed in the foreground.

We have created a dedicated website to give our theatre program a professional public presence that reflects the incredible work happening within Lakeview theatre. The new site gives us a place to showcase our students and their accomplishments, promote our productions, celebrate the history of our program, share event information, and help demonstrate the strength of theatre at Lakeview to prospective students, families, and our broader community.
